Day 1, Oct 23:

We switched flights from Charlotte-NYC-Sao Paulo to Charlotte-Atlanta-Sao Paulo upon arrival at the Charlotte airport.  We were told there was no room for our fifteen duffle bags full of shoes on the NY flight but plenty of room on the Atlanta flight.  Then the bigger question – how much is the cost?   Three passengers with fifteen bags!  With the help of an understanding Delta attendant, we were able to pay only $600 instead of the normal $2800.  The attendant understood the importance of our mission trip.
